About The Kreative Space

About the Kreative Space: We are a job readiness program for autistic and otherwise neurodiverse young adults.

The Kreative Space is housed in the Employment Center of the young adult transitional program New Perspective Young Adults. The Employment Center offers the clients of New Perspectives the opportunity to learn valuable job skills in a work environment.

While completing work assignments, projects, or art, each Kreative Space student is working through both a classroom-type curriculum and individual goal-based plan to learn job skills. Students are often learning the skills of executive functioning (being on time, project planning, etc.) and emotional regulation at work.

The Kreative Space also employs full-time certified Employment Specialists and part-time certified Job Coaches to support interested students in finding jobs in the community.

Currently the Kreative Space warehouse supports woodworking & pen turning, pottery, jewelry making, sewing, soap making, digital art, and more.

Our mission is to support neurodiverse individuals in developing a healthier relationship with work.

We are committed to providing a supportive and enriching environment where individuals can learn, grow, and thrive. Our mission is built on the following objectives:

  • Redefining Success & Failure
  • Skill Building through creativity
  • Connection with self and others
  • Balancing motivation with persistence
  • Providing real world experience

Where do our staff get certified?

Each of our Job Coaches is certified through the Center for Employment & Inclusion at Utah State University by completing the Workplace Supports Training for Job Coaches. This is a life-long certification, with five hours of continuing education training required per year.

Each of our Employment Specialists completes 40 hours of training on Employment Services for People with Disabilities through the Center for Employment & Inclusion at Utah State University to receive their ACRE certification. The Association of Community Rehabilitation Educators (ACRE) certification is a nationwide certification, and is also life-long, with five hours of continuing education training required per year.
